Yes, I remember those days. Seemed like 3 channels were always enough. Now one can have over hundreds of channels & still not be able to find some thing worth watching.

I remember.
I don't have any cable or direct tv now, either.
I tried it for a while and found people here quit doing other things and sat in front of the tv.
I put the games away and disconnected cable and now people here are actually taking walks, finding things to do that they had forgotten about and not fighting over the tv.
Yes, I remember when there wasn't any. : )
I still see houses with antennas. Wonder if they just never bothered to take them down? LOL

Sadly, yes. There were only 13 channels, no remote controlls, sometimes people would have antennas. And, the broadcast stopped at midnight, or something. No 24/ 7 shows.

The Goonies, All the Molly Ringwald movies, 3 o'clock High, Weird Science, Polly, Pollyanna, Pippi Longstockings..and i can name a ton more..

reset the receiver by pressing the red reset button next to the access card slot, if they still show " no title " wait until 24hrs has passed and then call Directv. Directv receivers are terribly slow with software installation/updates and initial EPG update, but the "tech" still should of hung around to be sure because sometimes a second call for programming re-authorization is needed, in the mean time set up manual recordings to record your shows

Yup, a small TV with rabbit ears on a small (cart) TV stand WITH wheels, a button that you pulled to turn it on, two palm size knobs that you turned for the UHF and is it VHF??? then another knob for the volume and you changed the channel for your parents basically my dad has always had a TV with a remote... Yeah, I remember!!!

There was better quality programming with the few channels we had than all the crap that's on all these cable channels that they have now...

yes, I remember. we had a black and white tv with the rabbit ears. my brother and I used to peek under our door at night [after we were supposed to be sleeping] and watch it. a couple weeks later the tv was mysteriously moved to the other side of the room.lol
