Teri Hatcher just insulted the Filipino doctors in desperate housewives!! I'm a Filipina(and proud of it too..) This was all over our local news.. What do you think about it?

I don't watch the show but that is really poor judgement on their part.

I've never met a Filipino doctor, tons of Filipino nurses in the US though. I think its just a soap opera and the person saying it was in a frightened state and not an intelligent character to begin with. So, if anyone is offended they probably are just weak minded and get offended all the time anyway. The slur itself is that medical schools in the Phillippines are lesser then US med schools, most Americans feel this way. Anyone remember some of the comedies where an American goes to a foreign medical school?
