btw- led zeppelin are not a supergroup by definition. john bonham and robert plant were unknowns before page and jones found them in a pub.
pink floyd are also not a supergroup. no member came from a previously successful band.

I have a couple (both from the late 80s/early 90s):
Electronic - Johnny Marr (ex-Smiths), Bernard Sumner (New Order), and Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys)
This Mortal Coil - which was pretty much a who's who of the 4AD label: Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Fraser (Dead Can Dance), Tanya Donnelly (Throwing Muses), Kim Deal (the Pixies), Caroline Crawley (Shellyan Orphan), etc, etc.
