It doesn't buy happiness but it can sure soften the blows of life! It can also make a sad, empty tummy very happy! And it can make a sick person feel a lot better if they can afford a doctor! I guess if you are sad because you don't have a home to live in, then you get money and buy a home...you may become a little happy....or you may be happy if you have money to pay your bills or get to work. Let's see...it can't buy happiness...just the things that can MAKE you happy!
I think what it meant is...
"money can't buy joy or contentment!"
I sure would be happy if I had the money to go to Hawaii right now!!! (it wouldn't buy the happiness...just the trip)

Disagree. If I had lots of money I wouldn't have had to drop my 4 month old at daycare for the first time today and I would be very happy.

If I bypass a piano, I have no impressive to sit down down and play a captivating concerto as a results of fact I even have not earned that impressive by using some years of prepare. I do have the the terrific option to bang out some stupid track as a results of fact that is all that I even have positioned into the piano. further, I have no impressive to hundreds of thousands of dollars if i'm no longer able to even cope with properly the small money that I at the instant have. shall we throw each and all of the money we've at many that're on the streets and the next day, they could be back the place they're as a results of fact they positioned themselves the place they're with their unfavorable thinking. yet what's success? For one guy that's the affection a one lady, toddlers and offering them a modest homestead and garments and food. in this, he's proud. yet another would desire to have the biggest homestead, the quickest automobile, the main elite united states of america club and look like a millionaire to be triumphant. the 1st guy's success is interior the happiness and success, the 2d is interior the acquisition of issues. Wealth isn't measured basically with money. To have pals who will do something for you, to have the affection of a reliable lady, again homestead to the smells of homestead cooking, laughter of toddlers and understand you have performed your terrific, is Wealth. despite if that's achieved interior the loads of thousands or interior the 1000's.

You know, all I see here are people comparing the extreems. Of course if you are broke and living outside your means, or dirt poor and hungry then money will make you more happy.. Its all relative... I only make $30k a year, rent an apt, live in town, wlak to work etc.. have absolutely no debt, can save half my income, eat well (home mostly), have decent furniture, computer, tv, can read, paint, play music, only work 35 hrs a week. no kids!
I am free....in nirvana compared to someone I know who makes $300k a year, 2 bmw, big house, 2 brats, lotsa debts, poser trophy wife (pretentious) works 60hrs a week.. always stressed and ready to jump...
This nis what you whould be comparing....here

It probably can if you are the right kind of person and dont loose touch with what really matters. I have to friends that have some serious money, one of them is really sweet and in touch with the things that matter, the other is so full of herself and has money and shows it, she is not that happy in her life as she has become shallow and bitter forgotten whats important x

Come on of course it buys you a level of happiness....If you're on your own it's a lot easier if you have wonga...if you struggle with cash to have a good time then you are a jerk...the only thing apart from this is illness which will always be depressing but possibly more manageable if you have cash....If I was rich and dying I could surround myself with beautiful women fighting over who would kiss me next.....I would also be whacked on good expensive drugs!!!

I completely agree. Rich people are often more miserable than poor people. Money can make our lives easier if we keep it in perspective, but it certainly cannot make a person happy.

I think it can buy temporary happiness, or a spending high. Money is important but there are things that are more important that people need to be happy.
