Browser history is one place to check but you can enable logging at other points too. Is this your computer and network or his?

If this is all your equipment and you have a router rather than connecting directly to the cable/DSL modem, login to your router and enable logging on there (if not already enabled). You'll be able to see some history of visits in there (note that most routers don't have a huge amount of logging space so things fall out of the log somewhat quickly). You may also be able to configure the logging to forward logs to an email address, but not all routers have this capability. Another option is to configure additional logging at the system level. I haven't had to do this but some of the computers at work have this enabled. Look at the local/global policy editor on your system to see about disabling clearing history or enabling additional logging options.

If this is his computer/router, you may be out of luck unless you have admin access to enable additional logging options.

As a side note, unless his viewing habits are affecting your relationship, is it a big deal that he checked out some adult sites? My wife and I have been married 17 years and we both occasionally visit sites (hers more toward the "stories" and mine toward the "photos"). Curiosity is fine, as long as there are limits. If you really enjoy your BF, why not check some of the sites together and have fun with it (all age/relationship dependent of course).

I believe that the only native way to tell what websites have been accessed by a computer is to look at the history. There are programs available that will track the computer usage and the websites accessed but you have to install them first. That being said, your boyfriend may actually not be lying. Internet history is supposed to expire after a certain number of days. You can set that number in the options part of your internet browser. If the set limit was reached when you were away, then that would explain why the number of websites in history dropped from 25 to 13.

You shouldn't date someone that you can't trust.

History is automatically deleted when it is a certain age (a week on my PC), so the other 12 sites might have just expired in the history. Also, most secure sites recommend that you clear you cache when you leave; a lot of people think that History should be cleared too. If the space allocated for Internet files gets full, then old stuff starts to get deleted early.

How would you feel if he invaded your privacy and started interrogating you?

Once the history has been deleted thats it. You can buy a device that plugs into your keyboard connection and then into your computer this little device has some memory built in, and records every input via the keyboard. So it probably has enough memory to record about 30 site inputs. You then just open it up and see what hes been on and hell never know, search keyboard tap on ebay maybe, i dont know the exact name but they are legal and are quite cheap. But if your boyfriend cant tell you what hes been doing maybe you should have a good talk with him. Thanks for asking, Kieran

Easy on the caps lock...

First, why invade his privacy? If he deleted the history, that's his own business. I don't even allow my browser to keep any history.

Like said previously: An Internet browser only keeps its history for so long. Also, if the cache were to get full, the browser would dump it and go on from there.

Finally, trust your boyfriend, but if I had someone who acted the way you do, I'd dump you (no offense). Men don't like being spied on and interrogated

damn... Little over bearing are we? Frequently IE is setup to delete the history after 24 hours. Yes it is possible that he cleared the history. Maybe you should just not let him on the computer any more or better yet get a babysitter while your away. Im not a profesional but i think there maybe a slim chance you have trust issues....

properly i'm uncertain how which could make me sense. I dn't think of u could rigidity if he does not have a profile yet. yet u could tell him how u sense. ask him if he's happy on your relationship and if not y and if so y is he watching relationship web content. yet this would make him sense like u do not have faith him b/c u are watching his laptop historic previous and he could commence deleting it formerly u see it. so wait til u have somethin a splash greater concrete. i don't think of there is something incorrect with a splash snooping, not b/c u do not have faith him yet because of the fact u do not choose to be harm. he could be searching for an old buddy. is it like myspace or that form of website

Come on! Don’t try to control everything that he does, it’s not healthy for you’re relationship. He might leave you after a wile if you continue to be a control freak. Maybe he looked at some adult sites, so what? At least he looks at his monitor and his not cheating on you for real.
