I really hope not. I'd like to think he just represented a certain group of like-minded people but with how huge his radio show is and how many people on this site use his terminology the reality of the situation seems kind of grim. Personally I think he hurts the political world by doing nothing but spouting the same hate every day like a mantra. He should be viewed as nothing more than Jerry Springer-like entertainment but unfortunately he has tremendous influence on people.

Bush is an idiot for invading Iraq to begin with & the strategy implemented in the early stages of Iraq war was obviously driven by ideology instead of an understanding of the true situation. Given that, Limbaugh is entitled to his opinion & has the right to express that opinion.
Given that Bush made a terrible decision leading to the inital invasion & based tactics & strategy on misguided ideology, we are now faced with creating a catstrophy by premature pull out of troops or continueing to bleed the treasury & military in hopes of building a workable government there.
How the right wing got the idea that only those that dodged service in the past have a right to an opinion is beyond me, but the left wing has produced some phoney soldiers that 'claim' to have served when or where they haven't. Both sides of the equation are more concerned with retaining or advancing their power base than doing what would help their country.
I served in Korea & my son served in Iraq, so we both dislike people that misuse or denigrate the military... chuckle, that includes the rabid right & the misguided pin heads on the left.

He also said you cannot be a Republican if you don't support the War in Iraq.

His Oxycontin addiction has finally caused him to show his true feelings about the "troops he supports"; if they don't agree with him, they are "phony". Of course, a draft dodger who calls real soldiers phony is sorta like calling George W. Bush a "War President". Consider the source, in this case, the prescription bottle in Rush's bathroom. As those "phony soldier" comments were MUCH more obscene and vile than anything Howard Stern would EVER be brave enough to say, the FCC should fine the station Rush is on, he should at least be suspended but better, he should be removed from the airwaves, just as Imus was for HIS insensitive remarks. Since rightwingers are solidly in support of "Law and Order", Rush needs to be punished for his treasonous speech on public airwaves. How long is the right going to allow such poisonous hatred to represent them?

Rush Limbaugh represents Rush Limbaugh's views. It is just as big a mistake to assume that any one or even a few Democrats speak for the entire left as it is to believe that Rush Limbaugh speaks for all conservatives.
Rush himself has never been, nor is he now, a soldier. He is just a guy with a soapbox to talk from.

Rush represents ignorance and stupidity. So to answer your question - yes, he does represent the basic views of the right.

Rush Limbaugh is a phoney himself. Yes he does represent the extreme right. Unfortunately the mainstream Republicans get blamed for much of his garbage and clap trap.

So, is it the basic tenet of the left to lie about, take out of context, and distort what Rush actually did say to support the left's typical hate and dishonesty?

He represents the basic views of the right who know absolutely nothing about politics.

He is an ENTERTAINER.

I haven't had the occasion to listen to his show in a few months.

Last time I tuned in the Sox had the day off and Walter Williams was on as a guest-host - I rather like Dr. Williams, I think he's very intelligent and a good communicator, explains a lot of issues better than I can in print on this site.

I have no clue what you are referring to with "war with Earth" though - the air and water are both cleaner than they were in 2000.
