I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years, living together for 6 months. Next month he is taking me to Vegas. I've never been there before. I found out that we are staying at Paris Hotel, in a luxury suite. It's supposed to be a very romantic hotel, and I'm told the top of the Eiffel Tower is a popular place to pop the question. We are in our early 30's and most of our friends are married or engaged now...so I'm wondering if he will ask me. We don't really talk about marriage much - he's kinda old fashioned in that way.

What do you think my chances are of getting engaged?

It sure sounds like he's planning to propose. If he doesn't propose, I think you should propose instead. If he is taking you there and doesn't plan to propose, it's time you get things clear regarding his intentions. But I think he'll propose. Please let us know!

Sounds like that could be a possibility or............. he could just be planning to take you to the chapel Elvis got married in and save money on a big wedding. He is saving money by living with you so we know he's economical. Or maybe he'll just live with you forever and never get married. You can have babies and claim head of household on your taxes and get the bigger refund than if you were married. Sweetie, he's not old fashion if he doesn't discuss marriage with you. He's not old fashion if he lives with you out of wedlock. (Or is he old fashion when it's convenient for him? )There's an old saying the men like to say, " Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". I'm not saying you're a cow so don't take it personally. Some men are scared of marriage and the commitment. Sounds like that's what you have found. Has he ever been married before? He's wasting your time if you want marriage and he won't even discuss it. If old fashion is what you want, go get a real man that's old fashion. If you want to be with someone who lives for the minute and won't even discuss marriage or the future, then keep him and hope for the best.Don't fall for his crap though. Think about 5 years from now, what do YOU want out of life? 40 sneaks up on you quickly. Good luck to the 2 of you and I hope everything goes the way you plan.

We married in Vegas, and the funny thing was, the attendant name I was supposed to stay away from is Patricia-my late Mother´s name. Maybe it´s a good thing she wasn´t physically there???

I hope you get what you're hoping for. It sounds very possible that he could be planning it...but PLEASE don't set your heart on it, just in case he doesn't. I would hate to be thinking the whole time my guy is going to pop the question and be so giddy and not have it happen. I think I'd be so mad at myself if it didn't. Don't get hopes up, just hope for the best. Chances do look good as I said though... Congrats if and when it happens

It's possible, but I wouldn't set your heart on it. Imagine how bummed you'd be if he didn't propose, and also your memories of your awesome Vegas trip would be overshadowed by him not proposing.

Have you talked about marriage at all? What does he say about it? Is he smiling at the thought of being married one day, or does he think it's stupid?
