I agree with the previous two answers. The best way to remove sleeves from a shirt is an inexpensive device called a seam ripper. If you don't have one, or want to do remove the sleeves right now you can use any sharp insurment i.e., small sissors or knife. the best place to start is in the underarm where more of the thread is exposed at the seam. Then slowly cut the threads thill and opening is there and then removal is fairly straight forward after that. then you come to the top seam on the shoulder just pay attention not to cut to much away from the top seam or the shoulder may start to unravel. after you are dien just clean off the remaingin thread and if you want use a surger to "seal" the egde of the fabric but this step is not "needed".

Use a good, sharp knife. Just cut along the seams.
Then toss those sleeves good bye!
