maybe your drives got erased in the process.go to your manufacters site and get the latest drivers.

probably the drivers got corrupted in the restore process - or you restored to a time before the drivers were installed.
you should have provided the configuration of the system.however assuming that you have got a branded system and you know the model and make of your sound card . try downloading them from the companys ' website .it should solve the problem.

Hi. First go into "Start> All Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume Control>". Make sure the speakers are not muted. If you get them working, there is a free program called "QuickMix" that will save the settings for you. http://www.ptpart.co.uk/quickmix/

are you able to adjust the volume? if you cannot then you need to reload the soundcard drivers.

its very common ppl will have windows media player muted while insisting its not i walk them through it and unmute it and volume works again... funny how their always positive its not :P
