I was practically BORN tired of the Cubs. Growing up around here, all I ever heard about was the Cubs, the Bears, the Bulls, and the University of Illinois. Each of them was DREADFUL when I was growing up. Willie Mays would hit 3 home runs in one game and the local news covered the Cubs 12-2 loss. The highlights of the Bears and the U of I was always 15 different showings of their only score, a field goal, in a 35-3 loss.

Ernest T 2.0 has already shared one of the cruddy old Cubs songs I had to listen to over and over. Jack Brickhouse used to be better than novacaine at deadening the senses.

Then the Cubs went national with the super station. Their fans slowly became drunken yuppies who don't know ball two from their scrota and who puke and act like emos while they watch the games.

The Cubs do not represent real baseball. They are the Snoopy of the major leagues.

What exactly is it about the Cubs that you are tired of? People making songs? People have recorded songs about every baseball team at one time or another. ( Maybe not about the Devil Rays, but most teams at least) The song that you are probably refering to is Go, Cubs, Go, by Steve Goodman, and was not just written - it goes back to 1984.
Are you tired of seeing them in the playoffs year after year? Being a Cubs fan, I definitely know that's not the case. What exactly is it about the Cubs that makes them any more tiresome then the Yankees or the Red Sox, who seem to get 10 times the press, and probably 100 times more recognition in this forum. Or the Atlanta Braves fans, with their silly tomahawk chop? Or the fans in Philadelphia, who not only boo their own players, but boo Santa Claus as well. Does the fact that the Red Sox play Sweet Caroline during the 7th inning stretch? Really, it's a great song, but what does it have to do with baseball?
My suggestion to you is that something annoys you that much, don't pay any attention to it. Change the channel once in a while.
I obviously am somewhat prejudiced, being a 4th generation Cubs fan, but I think it would be great for the game for the Cubs to be in the World Series. Even people who are not fans of the game know the Cubs' history of being "lovable losers" and will follow the story as it unfolds. Will that same person do the same to see the Yankees in another series? Doubtful.
Let us Cub fans enjoy it as much as the fans in any other city do when their team is winning.

The Cubs are doing well right now, so I wouldn't say they are a horrible team, there's a lot of worse teams right now. If the Cubs were doing horrible, they would be in last place. Although they haven't done much for 99 years, they started doing better this year. I think they should have done better through the years, considering they have a lot of money and should have a good team.

You sound angry . Perhaps you should go for a long walk to calm down and sometimes singing helps as well .
Maybe you should try singing this song >>

Hey, hey, holy mackerel,
no doubt about it,
the Cubs are on their way!

The Cubs are gonna hit today
they're gonna pitch today
they're gonna field today
come what may,
the Cubs are gonna win today!

Hey, hey holy mackerel
no doubt about it
The Cubs are on their way

They've got the hustle
they've got the muscle
the Chicago Cubs are on their way!!!

I'm not. It's a nice change from having to listen to all the Red Sox and Yankee fans. Let cub fans have some fun and enjoy it. Their team hasn't won for almost 100 years.

I am. Being from STL, I find it very hard to root for the cubs. It has been a tradition to laugh at their misfortune, bad play, bad trades, and a lack of winning the series ( or even being in it). I only take so much pride in that fact that I get enjoyment from their misery. I know they want to win, but I want to be able to continue to laugh at the cubs with my children, and some day, with my grandchildren.

Can't we just let their fans have some fun? If you went a 100 years missing something you wanted you would be making up songs yourself, and probably posting the words to the song on this site.
