I bet he is jealous, I have seen some of your answers on here and you sound like a real intelligent lady and like alot of men (unfortunatly..) he feels that he has to keep putting you down so that he feels better bout himself. People who have to push their authority down everyone's throat know deep inside that they dont deserve that authority in the first place!!
Chin up girl xoxo

I think that if this occurs a lot then you should say something privately to your boss. Ask your boss if you could speak with her/him in private - there is nothing wrong with that. I had to do the same thing and I was petrified but she changed and she was in a higher position than me.
Never be sad about this or anything work related! Everything will turn up great in the end "because" I know your are extremely intelligent and can do anything you want in life!

He sounds really arrogant and right up his own backside too, who does he think he is, god, he has ideas above his station if you ask me, just because he has a degree doesn't make him a better person than anyone else, put salt in his coffee when hes away from his desk and watch him splutter and squirm, sew the arms of his jacket up at lunchtime or something as silly, don't worry Tinks, people like him always get their comeuppance eventually.

I think most of us on here know you can rise above that, may be worth reminding him that, a degree without common sense is as much use as a chocolate light bulb. lol Imagine him walking round work with no clothes on and a carrot up his arriss, that should fetch a smile.

Don't let the idiot get to you...because the way you describe him makes him look stupid anyway....always remember that people like him will not be very popular with an attitude like that....just laugh at him and tell him to do his own bloody paperwork...from December back to January...say to yorself (who's the better person...me me me)...and repeat it in your mind...don't let that moron grind you down, he's a tit brain

Your colleague sounds like he needs to be knocked off his pedestal. A degree does not make you superior to anyone else, and if he believes that it does, then he's the idiot. I'd tell him that if he wants something done his way to do it himself, otherwise to leave me alone to do it the right way.

if he thinks you're really thick then act being really dense, this could get very amusing. get his opinion on everything. i.e. should the paper be facing the front or back ? when making tea, do you prefer the milk in first or last ? and even after he's explained it ask but why .... he'll soon get bored of talking to you

He's jealous of you, because you can spell "because". As long as this guy isn't your superior, just ignore him.
If he is your superior, grin, bear it (to his face), and then go let the higher-up person know that the guy's being a jerk. They'll handle him.

Just smile and be nice. He will only bug you if he can get a reaction from you....if he can't read your reaction his fun will end and he will find someone else to lord over! He is a bully.

Next time he says something stupid to you just reply sarcastically......"Oh thank you so much for pointing that out for me....i would never have figured it out for myself...you are so clever...your parents must be so proud"......that should give him some food for thought and if it doesn't my next advice is kick him in the nuts!!!
