Why do so many black men worship and lust after non-black women or black women that look mixed?
Especially dark skin men!! Look at the our so called network nothing but non-black women and light skin women on the shows. All the videos have only European looking black women with long "good hair", light skin and light eyes. Is that the only thing that is beautiful to many black men? Our women are BEAUTIFUL in all shades and ALL hair types so stop being so brainwashed and stupid!!!

(sigh) Finally someone that recognizes the real self hate in the Black community. I'm not going to say anything else, I just wanted to exonerate you for speaking up.
---
I discovered that a lot of the Black men who only* "worship and lust after" light skin - close to white/non-black women had a self-hate problem...and all those men were dark skin. I'm not saying this type of behavior only exists with dark skin Black men, but I just notice this behavior among them more.
Some people say opposites attract...I believe that too.
But when I hear a Black man glorifying a woman's hair and skin complexion I get a little concerned, but I don't make it MY problem as I don't believe the majority of Black men are THAT dang brainwashed. I was listening to the Russ Parr morning show one morning and a Black man called the show and gave reason to why he would never date a dark skin woman, because he felt they were dirty. Does that sound familiar? Do you see why I say this is a type of brainwashing?
Black women do this too...
There are Black women who specifically filter out men with a light complexion and "good" hair. (no such thing as good hair, take note of the quotes).
This type of behavior dates back to earlier times, but I don't think this is the community's biggest issue. I've never seen or heard another Black guy (if you are Black) or any man for that matter speak up about this.
Cool!
---
Even though you brought up a good topic, you still need to be responsible. There is no way to tell how many Black men worship and lust after non-black women or biracial women.
If you want to talk about Black issues, whatever race you are, lets be responsible. Maybe next time...

This is a simple question to answer. It's because most black men (just like most black women who attempt to lighten their skin and spend tons of money every month straightening the kinkiness out of their hair) have fallen for the European standard of beauty, which we all know includes light skin and long silky hair.
Too bad they don't realize how much they hate themselves.

You should really understand the meaning of the word racist before you sling it around! It is not a racist question, it's really thought provoking. If you look at black society today, a lot of emphasis is placed on the beyonce's, and alicia keys', of the population. For some, light skin represents beauty. Very few are the Jill Scott's and India Arie's praised for their dark skin beauty.

Why do I feel like I have to say this day in and day out? LEARN THE DEFINITION OF THE WORDS "RACIST" AND "RACISM." It's not that difficult to look up a word.
Talking about race is not racist. Respectfully pointing out a very real issue in a particular community and trying to open a productive dialogue is not racist. Every negative inter-racial interaction is not racist. Working to better your community in a positive way that focuses on your community but other communities are free to join, is not racist (yeah, that goes for "white" focused groups as well. Rural areas are just as bad off as the inner city). Stop attaching this word to every single thing that involves race. It negates the REAL racism that is happening in the world.
I'm sorry that this had nothing to do with your question but a lot these answers are a real blower.
Ok, these answers have blown me so much that I have to say something. People are entitled to like what they want to like but to think that you just up and decided one day that you liked "a" rather than "b" in terms of a generalized beauty ideal is mendacity. We all go through the same socialization processes in this country as Americans. As one poster already pointed out, the same images that are held on high for whites make up the fabric of the black socialization process as well. You may like what you like and add your own variations on a theme, but a large part of the reason why you like what you like was ingrained in you before you ever noticed the opposite sex.

I completely agree with you, and I'm interested to see what some of the men will say. It's always nice to see women like Gabriel Union, Alek Wek, Nia Long, ect., get recognized for their beauty, unfortunately though it seems to not happen too often.

Why are you concerned with what men choose to lust after? It's great you like darker skinned women. If everyone liked the same types of people, we'd have a huge problem. Go find yourself a dark skinned chick, marry her, have dark skinned babies and do YOU.
Pretty much, you don't have the right to say anything about what anyone does with their life. Pick up any Smooth or XXL magazine and you'll see tons of darker skinned black women with huge butts who don't resemble anything European except for pressed hair.
And, even then, it's not your business if a woman chooses to press her hair out either.

Well I know I'm not a black man LOL! but dark black women are the same way. Dark black people in general usually date light people. I think it is self-esteem issues. But I really could care less who they like. I love dark men (but then again I'm not really dark myself LOL!) but at the same time I'm not light either, so what about us multicolor browns of black women and men. How do we fit in this, since MAJORITY of blacks are multicolor of brown tones.
BTW
dark black men and women who love how they look DO date and lust after fellow dark skinned blacks.

As a black woman I wondered that too. I guess from experience it's not attractive. I fortunately have pretty pecan skin color. And I would always have guys the dumb ones tell me I was the darkest they would go. But I am pretty so they couldn't say shitt about me. Some light skin girls are ugly. No pretty features whatsoever. But me hmmm I have all kinds of men calling me beautiful and turning their heads. So I laugh at these ape looking black men. The ones that are dark and big lips are the main ones discriminating.
