(umm.. hope you dont mind if i re-post my answer to the question similar to this..)
Right now, my best Bet is Randy Orton or Kennedy.. Two guys who can definitely go at it!
I want it to be Orton Because he shouldve won it against cena (and since they made cena unbeatable), now is his big chance, he has all what it takes to be champion. he works hard for it, he entertains and all.. he makes a great champion compared to cena.. cena made the wwe title look crap!!
Second Choice is Kennedy.. Because he is so talented.. the way i see it, he is!! now we can see a new champion who is absolutely worth watching!! and we can scream with him during his intro.. the WWE champion... MR KENNEDY!!!!

i like triple h to be champion.. but i guess i want him to be champ at a huge event like survivor series or wrestlemania.. if he could have it right away, it would be cool too.. :D
and if HBK was on WWE now.. ill never think twice of saying his name here!! you all know why he DESERVES to be champion!!

Ever since John Cena brought the WWE Championship to the premiere franchise (Raw) in WWE back in June 2005, I felt that the World Heavyweight title is presently on SmackDown a 2nd tier championship.
Back to the point of WHO should be the next WWE champion?
1. Shawn Michaels
2. Triple H
3. Mr. Kennedy... Kennedy
4. Jeff Hardy
5. Randy Orton

What they should do since cena is hurt now for 6-8 months with a torn pec, is give the belt to orton obviously this sunday at no mercy since they are currently feuding. Orton is getting over again so I think he would be a good champ. To really push orton as the legend killer, they need to bring back Austin and have Austin lose to orton and eventually then hogan if they want to do it right. HHH shouldn't be champion right now because they don't have a strong enough roster so they can involve HHH in something else besides a world title angle.

john cena was supposed to drop the title to orton on sunday, so they'll probably have orton fight someone else, like possibly kennedy. orton will win it, since he was supposed to anyway. then they can start up an orton-hhh feud.

well i think it will be jericho because now it's his chance to shine again since he'S returning to no mercy this sunday. so my post plausable guess that it's jericho that will be facing orton.
