Pollution is the introduction of materials or energy into the environment in such a way as to endanger humans, harm the environment, or interfere with legitimate use of the environment.
Some examples would be the dumping of chemical substances that affect human health, the emission of noise that disrupts animal breeding or migration, or the emission of light that interferes with astronomical observations.
