I've adjusted the high screw earlier but didn't seem to bother it at the time. Any ideas on how to fix this problem.

Make sure that the fuel/oil mix is correct. Don't believe that more oil is good. Use the right mix. Check the carburetor area for air leaks. Check to make sure that the screws holding the carb on are tight and that there is a gasket between the carb and the engine. An air leak in that area will make the engine run lean and hot. When you adjusted the high speed screw did it change the performance? A small adjustment should make a large difference. There is a filter in the gas tank on the end of one of the hoses, it could cause the engine to run lean also. I would suspect an air leak and/or a fuel problem. If it gets too hot it will sieze and damage the piston and cylinder. Beings how it was rebuilt, I would take it apart and make sure that all fasteners are tight. Or if it was just rebuilt can you return it?

You can take off the bar and chain, leave the cover off, then start up the saw and look for oil coming out. I had an old Poulan that had an odd slot in the bar that the oil had to travel through to get to the chain, and it clogged easily. The oil came out of the saw fine, it just was not getting to the blade and bar. The slot was so small that it took me a minute to find it, but I knew it had to be there when I saw how and where the oil was getting to the bar. My newer model does not have this. Good luck.

If it is getting hot you need to cool it down. Maybe install some type of Binford 3200 air conditioning system. Pick up Tim Taylors book for more helpful hints around the house, or watch his show, "Tool Time."

Try a richer mix of oil/gas.
