My late husband and I went to present an Offer To Purchase, a house. We were sitting with the sellers, and they were a bit undecided. Out of the blue he said, "This Offer has nutritional value for my family". The sellers looked at him and asked why? He said, "If you don't accept this offer I can't buy food for my family!" That's absolutely true, and I had to put my head down and my hand over my forhead. I was giggling so much, I could not believe that he could say that. They accepted the offer.

Any funny Real Estate stories?

When we sold our last house, the buyer wanted us to accept £500 less than the asking price. I knew he was keen so refused, telling him that £500 was a a lot of money we could spend at the fish and chip shop. He went away to think about it. Later I answered the phone to hear his voice say. "Ok Mrs D you win, go get the chips in!" lol

That might not sound amusing to you, but don't forget I'm a Brit x

A few years ago we sold our cabin in the woods. We had it on the market less than 3 days and had multiple offers. To sweeten the pot, one of the bidders threw in a week-end free stay at a B&B that the wife managed and a day sail on a schooner on which the man was the Captain. Needless to say, we took their offer, in part, because it was so original. Also, they had lived on a boat for the past 10yrs. and had absolutely nothing with which to furnish even a small cabin...so, they bought us out buying everything in the house, including the dishes, linens, stuff in the shed, etc....in essence, they just moved into our life...We moved into the $%^$& motor home, lol....but that's another story.....
