You could defrag it. That just means that as you use your computer that some programs get fragmented and if you put them back together then the computer runs better. If you have windows XP home go to help and support center. Then go to improve hard drive performance. then go to Microsoft disk defragmenter. If this is the first time you are doing this then it will take a while. Hope this helps!

First, download adaware and spybot and run them both. www.lavasoft.com for adaware www.safer-networking.org for spybot. Allow spybot to create a backup of your files. Do full scans for both and immunize with spybot. When done go into add/remove programs and remove any items you no longer use. Next empty your recycle bin. Then, go to start, programs, accessories, system tools and pick disk cleanup. When it finishes analyzing choose all except "compress old files" (it takes forever) and then allow it to run. When finished go back to start, programs, accessories, system tools and pick disk defragmenter. You can run "analyze" if you want.. it will either tell you to defragment or not but you will most likely need to so you can save a bit of time by just defragmenting. Let that run and then reboot when done. This should speed things up considerably.
Hope this helps! :)

There are several ways:
You can delete unwanted files, programs and run defragmentation.
You can also install more RAM, additional memory will certainly speed up your computer's performance.
The best way:
1. Add more memory
2. Reformat your computer and start fresh (Save your important files first)
3. Install programs that you only use frequently
4. Install anti-virus software
5. Perform monthly maintenance (run updates, disk cleanup, defrag, etc, etc)
Good luck my friend

Cleaning up the drive by running a virus scan AND scanning for cookies AND then De-Fragmenting your drive(s) as well as adding RAM will help speed it up, but RAM doesn;t always speed up a puter noticeably -- adding a faster processor (IF the computer is set up for one) will help significantly, in addition to all the other things you have already done (that I have listed)

If youre computer has viruses or trojans, try reformatting the computer. If it doesnt try overclocking the computer by pressing Del continously when starting up windows and changing it performance perameters.
