i have to have my clutch all the way down into the floor before it even begins to catch. sometimes i cant even start the car because i cant get the clutch down far enough.

how can i fix this?

(08 scion tc.... i know its under warranty, but i would like to try to fix it myself first)

There is a rod going to the master cyl. from the clutch pedal arm, under the dash. There is an adjustment on it. Some models have the adjusting rod at the slave cylinder, near the transmission.
If it's in warranty, don't mess with it, it could void your warranty.

Don't do it! If you even try and take it apart or mess with the factory settings it may void the warranty on the clutch assembly. It more than likely has a slave cylinder inside the transmission housing. If you have never messed with something like that you shouldn't start on a warranted item. Make an appointment and good luck.

On the clutch fork that comes out of the bell housing there is an adjusting nut at the end of the clutch linkage rod. Simply lengthen the effective length of this rod by screwing the nut clockwise. This will return the clutch petal higher on the floor board.
