We are looking for a nice family oriented resort in Florida with beach. Kids are 10, 7, and 5. We are willing to spend more if it is worth it. Going sometime in January 2008. Any experiences or suggestions appreciated, not interested in Disney.
Thanks

Nickelodeon Family Suites would be my top choice for a family resort in Florida.
Located within five minutes of Disney World, the 800-room Nickelodeon Family Suites has been turned virtually into a kid's camp.

~ Kid-friendly suites are decked out with favorite Nick characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Cosmo and Wanda from The Fairly OddParents, and Rugrats.
Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn are infused with the essence of Nickelodeon.
The most popular rooms are equipped with bunk-beds

~ The resort is on 24 acres and the "pool" is a full-fledged water park.
Poolside there is also complimentary nine hole miniature golf course, lighted basketball courts and other activities hosted by hotel staff.
Daily activities include contests and games and a favorite Nick television activity.
Lucky kids are chosen to be “SLIMED” in front of poolside on-lookers.

~ In addition to the many water activities, what happens at night is what really sets this resort apart from other Orlando resorts.
The Nick Hotel boasts a one-stop entertainment complex that houses restaurants, an arcade, computer games, a food court, kid’s spa and more.
The anchor of this area is Studio Nick, a million dollar state-of-the-art theater.
For family entertainment, this is the place – watch others compete in family game shows and family karaoke!
Who knows, during a game show, someone in your group may even be slimed!
These hourly shows are free.

Bill, this family-friendly resort is such a complete resort, you don't need to go the nearby theme parks.
For a parent, a decision to stay at the Nick Hotel is a decision that can’t be beat.
As far as Orlando resorts, for kids it’s like the hottest, gotta have Christmas toy – the place all of the kids want to stay.
Kids call it, the “Nick Hotel.”
Your children are the perfect ages to really enjoy this resort.
If you don't know the characters beforehand, you will by the time your holiday is over:
Character meals with SpongeBob SquarePants; characters in your room; characters walking about the resort area and stationary characters pose for photo opportunities.

Oh, they have a website:

You might want to check out the Ft. Myers area Sanibel and Captiva Islands. The South Seas Resort on Captiva is just beautiful. The sunsets are spectacular and the beaches are made for shell hunters. Sanibel offers the Sun Dial Resort.
A little further north up the coast is Longboat Key. The Longboat Key Club Resort is luxurius and there are lots of things to do around the area for entertainment around Sarasota and other islands if the beaches are a little windy.
Have a great time!

truthfully disney international could be your pleasant alternative. the 1yr historic is unfastened and will sleep in a stroller while worn out. the 3yr historic could pay the youngster's rate. they may be able to do extra matters at disney international than seaworld. seaworld is just about as high priced as disney international and if you're most effective spending part the day its losing cash. if you happen to desire an low-cost and stress-free holiday given that your kids are it seems that too younger for disney international then i could simply propose going to a seaside for a couple of days which isn't close the orlando field given that orlando is within the center of the state. pass spend a couple of days at daytona or st. augustine. or do not trouble with florida in any respect. as an alternative pass to myrtle seaside which isn't as some distance of a force. btw you become aware of i already steered st. augustine prior correct?!

I would also say Sanibel Island area. I was there in April of this year. I stayed at the Sanibel Inn. They have condo type rooms which is what we stayed in. They also have regular kinds of rooms too. They have a pool.the hotel is right on the Gulf of Mexico. From every room you can see the gulf. The sunsets are spectacular and so are the sunrises. If you like to collect seashells there are plenty there.
