I know about manic depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, but is there a mental health condition that consists primarily of mania? Would it be drug-related? Or can someone be "manic" without drugs?

E.g., from Wikipedia,

used to remember the symptoms of mania is DIGFAST: [2]

* D = Distractibility
* I = Indiscretion
* G = Grandiosity
* F = Flight of ideas
* A = Activity increased
* S = Sleep (decreased need for)
* T = Talkativeness (pressured speech)

Yes. A diagnosis of bipolar I disorder only needs a single episode of mania (lasting for 1 week or requiring hospitalization). And it does not necessarily involve drugs.

My 20 year old is bi-polar but she spends the majority of the time in the Manic stage these days.

I would think that mania can be caused by either a chemical imbalance in the brain or by a drug reaction, depending. Most of those symptoms mentioned seem to be associated with ADHD too, but don't quote me on that one.
