The Wechsler scales (e.g., Wechsler person Intellignece Scale, or WAIS) are probable the main accepted for my area administered intelligence assessments in North usa. with the help of definition, the frequently occurring score on a Wechsler try is one hundred and the favored deviation (a level of the "unfold" of rankings around the frequently occurring) is 15. rankings interior this form of ninety one-a hundred and ten are defined as "frequently occurring"; this variety is precisely 50 p.c. of the inhabitants. A score of a hundred and fifteen is a million accepted deviation above frequently occurring, and is greater useful than eighty 4 p.c. of human beings taking the try. A score of 117 is a little greater useful than this. rankings interior this form of 111-one hundred twenty are defined as being interior the "severe frequently occurring" variety. Many different IQ assessments makes use of the comparable scale, so this could practice to despite try you took, whether i'd warning against examining something into IQ assessments on the international-extensive-information superhighway. coming up an intelligence try is a labour-in intensity, time-eating, and expensive technique that no information superhighway-based IQ try has gone by using.

many cultures may have different ideas of intelligence. In America, it's showed in a very high college degree, or being very educated in politics. But in Africa, the tribal people could really care less about a paper representing intelligence, they would consider someone who knows how to hunt, build a house, cook a good meal, and raise a family to be intelligent. Cultures value different qualities defending on their socioeconomical class. there can't be one race that is more intelligent than the other, there are just too many factors that play a role in determining that. pretty much, everyone evens themselves out.

I think there are many levels of intelligence... Yes, culture, habits, language, living situations all colaborate in the way people think, act, process, etc...
I haven't actually read of any studies of which 'race' is the smartest..
I would only have to assume that Asians would be the most book smart..
This question actually has me curious now... I think I'll surf the net to see if there is an answer...
Star for you!!

Historically, society has been taught that the black race was inferior. This however was not true nor is it true today. Hitler also pushed this notion upon his people. during the 12th century, the University of Timbuktu had an attendance of 25, 000 students.....Also Egypt which is in africa built pyramids which includes mathematics etc

There was a controversial study a couple of years ago which studied this question. it examined, Indian, White, Asian (Chinese) and Black groups.

I won't give the results here (as it'll just end in a bunch of thumbs down). Suffice to say that theres not much of a difference, but that another poster was correct when he said the in maths and science, Indians routinely test highest.

It is a matter of how intelligence is defined. A quantum physicist's intellect is all but useless for living in the Amazon rainforest. Try googling Howard Gargner for his theory of multiple intelligences. If you are really ambitious, read "Frames of Mind."

In the overall scheme of 'things' and life???
How and why does this matter???
Do some reading, followed by some thinking - and perhaps you shall realize that IQ is not really relevant to social reality . . .
