What I find interesting on the 'hometown' thang is it is appearing with Reps. and Dems. I've seen Hillary bashed because she is from Ill. and a NY Senator... so what? Now here's Bush, claiming to be from Tx.... Bush is not Texan, nor his family. Granddaddy Bush was Senator in Connecticut, having been born in Ohio! And it was in New England during WW2 that Prescott got in trouble---had his finances frozen--- because of trading with the Enemy Act... the enemy being the Nazis. Now, more interestingly, we have W. born in Connecticut, telling us he is a Texan---yep, an Oil Man by his own admission(because he is not a Texan--but they are kissing his ****) and involved in the Carlysle Group which stands to make ...millions--no billions from the illegal war in Iraq(illegal because there was never a Declaration of War from Congress---and that's a law). So, why was it named after the moron in office? Oil....Texas Oil... But that is just my thought....

I'm surprised they just don't name 5 more things after Reagan. Isn't that what Texans do? They name stuff after Reagan.
I live in DC and a few years ago there were two Texas Congressman that were trying to rename 28th Street Ronald Reagan St. That was before he was even dead. So then the blocks would go 26th, 27th, Reagan, 29th... Way to screw up the system. They also wanted to get rid of the gun ban. Why do Texans care about my city's gun ban?

It was once taboo to name anything after a living President. Then came Reagan. Now you can't go anywhere in Texas without running into something named after the Bush's. Royalty understands the value of having public structures named for them. It projects their power.

I really hate it when they name something like that after a living person, especially a politician.
I remember when a democrat in Reno Nevada got a sports complex named after him and he was raked through the coals for that one.
I suppose the military will name a sub after Bush as well one day, and it will be known for going awol and then making up reasons to launch its nukes and woopie, Armageddon.
Damn, it sucks to have a Bush.
Peace

Let's see - both got us involved in equally prolonged and unproductive wars.
Domestically, Bush's economy is kicking total azz while Johnson's "Great Society" and the high tax burden associated with it was a total failure. Keep in mind, the roots of the sharp rise in both unemployment and inflation in the 1970s grew in the 1950s and 1960s.

President Johnson was a different President from a different administration...with many roads buildings and monuments in his name and honor.
This is about honoring another President from Texas.
Hope I cleared that up for you.

I totally agree, they should name every housing project in every ghetto in Texas after LBJ. After all, he is the one of the main reasons the ghettos still exist.
