A bit late isn't it? I mean he got elected governor of Texas twice, and President twice speaking just the way he does. He will not run for any other office.

Unfortunately there is not one candidate among the many that is likely to give us the same entertainingly tortured syntax as Mr. Bush. It may be a dull 4 to 8 years.

I imagine Bush realised things weren't going too well when the term Bushism was coined because of his frequent errors. Many of my foreign friends speak better English than my English friends, so I do see this as a social problem rather than a Bush problem.

He would have been wise not to hire Brownie, Chertoff, Cheney, Rice. He would have been wise not to sat there frozen for 7 minutes after the WTC attacks. He would have been wise to not stay on vacation for 2 days after NOLA drowned. He would have been wise not to add 5 trillion to the budget. He would have been wise not to weaken the dollar 66% in 7 years. He would have been wise to not invade Iraq while Americans wanted him to catch Osama...

It's too late for that idiot to become wise.

I used to say almost that exact thing! At my old company we had customers from Germany, China, Brazil and a bunch of other places and they all seemed to be much more well-spoken then W.
I don't even think that bastard passed high school grammar! But... the real question is "is our children learning?"

i think he knows his public speaking career is going to be over in 08. sure, there will still be people paying him big money to hear him speak; but they would do so even if he just laughed and grunted...so whats the point?

Let's face it.. he made it to president speaking that way.
Not everybody needs to sound like a Yale graduate.. even if they are.

I think it's a little late in his presidency to worry about his oratory skills. He's no Aristotle.

He would be wiser to just quit doing drugs(alcohol and crack).

It is having a major impact on his cognition.
