My mom stopped over yesterday afternoon and when my daughter looked at her she started FREAKING out, really bad, took a while to calm her down and then she did it again. It's not like my mom is a stranger to her, she see's her several times a week. As a matter of fact the day before my mom came over and they were playing together with no problems. My poor mom left so upset, I don't get it? Any ideas? It was so random.

Note: to anyone that wants to suggest abuse of any sort, besides the fact that my mother would never do that, she hasn't even babysat in about 2 months, we just visit a few times a week.

I think that's normal.

My son did this too. I can only assume it was a smell or color that the "baby senses" didn't agree with.

i do no longer think of its vaccine appropriate at present, yet would desire to be no longer at present. My son has dyshidrotic eczema, it is on the arms and ft. It comes and is going. Pores get clogged, and small blisters kind below the exterior, although I infrequently observe the blisters, purely the wetness while they burst. each so often there is peeling finding epidermis this is laying off off, yet each so often no longer. this could be what she has. With this form of eczema, if its genuine undesirable and itchy they do have prescription creams for it. My son might sit down and kick his ft, to scratch the itch. Eczema is an autoimmune sickness the place the physique assaults itself, and that's hardship-loose that autoimmune issues are appropriate to vaccines. it would desire to be something she outgrows yet oftentimes no longer. This no remember if that's this, might positioned her at bigger risk for hypersensitive reactions. If it keeps, evaluate taking her to a dermatologist, after which later an allergist extremely if there's a kinfolk historical past of hypersensitive reactions, in spite of the shown fact that maximum allergists do no longer prefer to work out somewhat one earlier 12 months. FYI-the photographs on the internet are severe situations, my son's would not look like this in any respect. additionally, I actual have it too, and developed it plenty older, these days. and that i know the onset says that its no longer in this age variety, although my son who has been clinically determined with this as an toddler, and my niece who has a similar warning signs yet hasn't been to a specialist in all probability has it. My sister insists its dry epidermis and is often lotioning her, although i became informed that may not help it, and it hasn't. My son does have nutrition hypersensitive reactions that have been shown, and my niece has environmental hypersensitive reactions and suspected nutrition hypersensitive reactions because of the fact she busts out with head to toe hives as quickly as each few months. My son is two my niece is 3.

Babies reach a point where they suddenly are aware that mom WAS holding them, and now she's not. Its the beginning of object permanence, a developmental stage.

It is normal. All babies go through it. My son saw his gramma every other day since the day of his birth, and still suddenly one day he started crying like a madman whenever she held him.

Just dont react to it, let her cry, pat her head while gramma is holding her until she calms down. You dont want to teach her that her fear is well founded and that she can ONLY be safe when held by you. This is the point where clingy babies are formed.

My son had the same problem. He was always afraid of noise, and my mom coughed a lot and this upset him. Perhaps something like that happened that made your baby associate negatively to your mom. He eventually outgrew it but still does not like loud noises.

I know someone mentioned glasses before and that could definitely be it but smell, also. Make sure your mom isn't wearing too much perfume or wearing scratchy sweaters when holding your baby. No offense, but maybe her breath, too. Any of these could be what your baby is protesting

It just shows that she is developing her own little personality and starting to show signs of just wanting Mummy.
Your poor mom must have been devastated.
Was she not perhaps wearing something odd at the time?
I've had my own babies freak out at me when I wore curlers!!

Maybe she didn't like the clothes, jewellery, perfume or make-up. Babies don't like different and will react the only way they know how.....To overreact, lol. Had your Mum recently had her hair cut or styled differently?
I don't know. Get your mum to come again and see what happens.
Good luck.
