If you do not vote at all, then you have no right to complain about the type of government that is elected. Your vote is important. You may not agree with a candidate's stand on a particular question, but you should try and choose the candidate who has an opinion closest to yours.

I'm pro-life, too, and I'm voting for Ron Paul because he would do everything he could to get this issue out of the federal government's domain. This nation is so divided on several issues, abortion being one of them, that a one-size-fits-all policy will not work. Therefore, I feel the best way for this issue to be resolved is at the state level, because issues like this distract us from other issues that should be resolved by the federal government but rarely are.

However, as a single issue, it seems your best bet for a pro-life candidate is Mike Huckabee. Here's a pretty good site to research him on http://www.ontheissues.org/Mike_Huckabee.htm

If you really think there is only one issue to vote on, then you might as well not go to the polls.

However, the politics of this country are immensely complex.

If there were 2 candidates, one who was pro-choice and one who was Hitler, would you really vote for someone who you knew killed off 6 million Jews over someone who ... was not Hitler?

That's the problem with being a single issue voter. You know that you are voting against your own and your country's best interests--and you do it anyway.

You know damn well that there has never been a Pro-Coathanger Presidential Candidate. If there had been, they would have done something about it.

But, they told you what you wanted to hear and you voted away your jobs, your tax money and your Freedom.

The decision on this issue needs to remain in the minds and hearts of those that have to make a choice on the matter.

The Federal Government has no need to be involved in it.

As someone who is Prolife, you shouldn't vote on a single issue. Even if Roe is overturned it wouldn't outlaw abortion it would send it back to the states to regulate. Single issue voting is an irresponsible way of voting.

Your questions is exactly what republicans are worried about in this presidential election. I find the response interesting: forget pro-life and look at other issues.

Abortion and gay rights are two issues that have no business in the Federal debate. They should be dealt with by the states. If one of these two issues is what motivates you to vote for President, you're part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Those types of issues should be decided at the state level, not the federal level.
