The answer is 1.

7 to the power of one is 7. Divide 7(1st power)/7(1st power) = 7(1st power - 1st power) = 7(0 power) = 1.

The strange answer results from the fact that in division powers of like terms are subtracted.

3(cubed)/3(squared) = 3(cube - square) = 3, or

27/9 = 3
