You can set it to update automatically every day. R. Click on the AVG icon - click on Launch AVG Control Centre - click on 'Test Centre' - click on 'Scheduler' and set the time you want. It will check and update when you first log on that day after the time you have set.

No. Both AVG Free and Avast! Home edition have in-built update checking facilities. You can either enable the Automatic Updates feature (which will check for updates daily when you turn on the computer), or you may manually download the updates by opening your AVG / Avast! and pressing the Update button. This also holds true for all other (free and non-free) anti-viruses and also most other types of software. It's not that free software have crippled facilities. Actually, AVG and Avast! are better than the non-free counterparts like Norton, McAfee etc.!

I had Norton on my HP table perfect. I hated it. My HP has Vista on it. it particularly is been no longer something yet a topic because of actuality new. i do no longer understand if the Vista working device performed a ingredient in it or no longer. as quickly as I get my reproduction of dwelling dwelling house windows 7 and get that computer reloaded with a clean OS i'm gonna supply Norton yet yet another attempt on that device and see the way it does. If it does as rotten because of fact it did with the Vista OS on it that stands proud because of fact the authentic of it with Norton. besides it quite no longer working good on that computer i had it in this computer that i'm on good now. Norton 2010 replaced into quite as sorry as 360 to me.I particularly have s some nasty code that i visit furnish to any computer in my keep just to make certain for myself how nicely Norton could artwork. i attempted 10. It detected all 10. Out of the ten it quite bumped off four. the quite a few 6 have been waiting to close down Norton. They disabled it. i'm nonetheless gonna supply it a attempt on dwelling dwelling house windows 7 as quickly as I get it. yet i do no longer seem to be stimulated any. so a recommendations the only AV that has extremely stimulated me is Kaspersky. It caught all 10 on the door. in no way even made it on the device. Detected all ten and blocked them. that's the way a sturdy multi useful AV would desire to artwork. do no longer quite clean up after a an infection, keep it from happening all on the same time.

This is what I love about AVAST, you can set it for automatic updates and forget it.....
Despite being freeware, avast! 4 Home updates its virus definitions on a regular basis (sometimes multiple times a day), and this process is automated by default.

NO, not unless you want to.
Both can be configured to run an auto update whenever you wish to set it. Choose a time when you are not using the PC but it is left on and connected to the Internet.

Simply: After installing a new antivirus program you want to be fully protected... & always check for updates before running a complete scan. Now you won't run a scan & then find out there's updates.
