A) around A'bad...
1. Nal Sarovar.. it is a sanctuary for migratory birds. Season starts in end Nov. thousands of birds can be seen. u have to go there before 7 a.m. to catch the boat. Absolutely must in winter.
2. Adalaj Vav-stepped well with carvings in stone. it's about 15 kms from A'bad.
3. Gandhinagar & Akshardham temple-u can't afford to miss. 1 day tour is ok. it's @ 25 kms from A'bad.
4. Dakore-a famous Hindu temple about 80 kms from A'bad.
5. Science City-about 10 kms from A'bad. Actually it is almost within city. Timings are 4-10p.m. A must for kids above 10.
B) within city...zoo, lake, shaking minars, Gandhi Ashram, Hathisinh Jain Temples, sdi Saiyad Mosque, etcc..

From Ahmedabad, there is very little downward. So u need to look upwards. Mount Abu is the first option. Then may be places around Abu, even Ajmer and Udaipur. You can also drive down to Saurashtra side --to Kandla and Run of Kuttch.

Assembly House of Gujarat state situated in it's capital Gandhinagar is just 30km far frm Ahmedabad. There are many industrial estates in n arround the city r also can be visited by pre-appointmants. A very good Science city is also there. there r many water parks and multiplexes too... whole city is marvelous and visitable.

Akshardham in Gandhinagar, also go to Gir and Diu
