I generally like all the characters, but here are my favourites:
Sephiroth
His character was interesting, he is the number one villain ever.
Genesis
A very mysterious character, I'm intrigued by his possible relations to Sephiroth and Jenova.
Rikku
I liked her personality.
Yuna
Same as Rikku.
Dr Cid
The first evil Cid ever in the series, and he's really interesting too!
Cloud
Gotta love cloud-chan!!!
Aeris
Yep, our happy little flower-girl
Quistis
I really liked her personality and the way she was eventually able to take charge when neeeded.
Minerva
Her mysteriousness makes her interesting.
Tidus
Happy and cheerful, hahaha, such a lovable blonde, lol
Llednar
Evil little blonde boy, yippee, lol
Auron
His 'I know everything but I won't tell you' attitude was funny and he kicks ass, lol
Well, there's lots, lol
And to the person above me: Adel isn't a male, she's a female (Thus sorceress and not sorcerer, and the fact that there are no males in the FF8 game that have the sorcery powers).

Other than that I like Lady Ashe from 12 and Celese from 6.

Rikku from FF10, because she isn't as stuck up as Lulu, Monk from FF1, I still love that game. Ingus from FF3, Auron from FF10, Red XIII from FF7, and Cid, from all of them, Cid is always the cool guy in all of them, and he always seems to have an airship.....

my favorite character out of all the ones i've played is 'Adel' the evil sourserous(terrible spelling) from final fantasy 8, he just looks really cool, my favorite character that you play as is probably.. zell or squall.
