The surge is working. The purpose is to find and destroy the enemy. It is not a surge in food deliveries. I don't buy your claim of starving people.

Why are people in the US in the same situation? It's an imperfect world. It won't do, though, to demand immediate gratification like a small child. It's a fourth-generation war that's four years along, and the normal time-line for these things is ten to thirty years. The al Maliki government has been in place only a year and a half, and Petraeus has only been using modern counterinsurgency tactics a few months. Fallujah, written off as hopelessly lost by the Marines last year, has shops open and soldiers safely walking around without their body armor. There's plenty to gripe about, like the continued balkanization of Baghdad, and the glacial pace of upgrading the US military to better deal with this kind of war, but you're doing yourself no favors by being childish in your criticism.

But, but they have ....freedom ! isn't that more important ?
Just because they were better off under Saddam, doesn't mean Bush's war isn't working. Look at how much money Republican contractors have made over the span of the conflict. Its too bad that iraqi people die, starve and live in fear.. but at least they have ..Freedom !

Because they refuse to live in peace with each other.

We are not causing them to kill each other. To the contrary we are there trying our best to prevent them from doing so.

You might as well ask why inner-city kids are killing each other over cocaine and blame it on the police.

War is the root cause of all miseries caused by foreign nations and is like a curse upon the innocent and helpless civilians of Iraq.
