It was widely recorded that President Bush told other world leaders that God said to him--"George--go and invade Iraq."

You know; These Republicans who want to get reactionary because their President uses to God to justify his own decision-making are irritating; But I'm used to irritating Republicans. However; The ones that are in denial really pi$$ me off - Even if that doesn't surprise me, either.
Bush has told numerous people that God 'told him' to invade Iraq; Among them, Washington Post reporter Bob Woowdward of Watergate fame in interviews for his book, 'Plan Of Attack'. On the subject of whether he asked his father for advice on Iraq; He told Woodward quote, 'I consulted with a higher father'. The Washington Post and other respected news outlets have since cited the quote numerous times with NO DISPUTE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE; As in this, among other, articles:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/09/AR2006110901981_pf.html
Woodward is hardly some radical lefty who just makes things up about the high level members of government he writes about; Or he'd have been discredited a long time ago and shunnned by Washington's powerful instead of being one of the most respected newsmen in the business.
Bottom Line: We may be in love with war, Republicans; But please DON'T deny every little bit of established fact in your love affair with it. Not everything the media says about darling little Georgie is part of some left-wing smear conspiracy. In fact; Most of it is just how d-mn openly DUMB he and his merry band of neocon thugs are...

American Presidents / presidential aspirants involve God very easily for their wrong doings / sins.
The other day it is read in one of Yahoo News alerts that the leading Republican president '08 hopefuls, Rudy Giuliani ,compared the scrutiny of his personal life marked by three marriages to the biblical story of how Jesus dealt with an adulterous woman. Do these great leaders do all the wrong things and attribute to God or invoke Jesus Christ the way it suits their convenience.

Sure and thru Billy Graham God told Hillary Clinton to forgive Bill for his numerous adulterous affairs, embarrassment in front of a nation, disbarment and lies to their only child while the world watched? Still proves even God gets a bad wrap from time to time. TY

It was definitely a mistake to speak these words. I am not a religious person per se, but I do know what God/religion means to me. It means different things to different people, and is a very personal thing. It's for this reason that he should never have said it. It's left open for anyone's interpretation...just look at yours. It's completely different from mine...and in my opinion, completely off the mark.
By the way, do you realize this article is a year old?
