what i need to know is, if we watch channels that are not broadcasted in H.D will they still be better quailty than our old t.v cus the screen resolution is more.

Not usually, the picture will look 'better' in some ways because you have more pixels to display the picture but the bigger the difference in broadcast and display resolution the more you will notice the flaws since your tv will just stretch the picture to fit in the display it uses.

Think of recording a video/taking a picture on your mobile and putting it on your computer, you can usually tell a big difference in quality because the computer will present it on a bigger screen with a greater resolution capability.

No, they'll be only as good as the signal that your TV receives.

They may appear better because your TV uses newer technology.
