Babies only breath through their noses not their mouths, so if she is a bit snotty then it will sound as if she is struggling to breath. I used a cotton bud to gently clear away excess from up my sons nose to help him and the noise disappeared straight away.

My baby does all of those things. He's not even 2 weeks old.
I was worried about him not breathing even before he was born, so I bought a baby monitor that senses movement. I'm not sure if anyone else makes them, but mine is made by Bebe Sounds. There's a pad that goes under the crib mattress and if the baby doesn't breathe for 20 seconds, an alarm alerts you.
I was really anxious about sleeping and this monitor has been a life saver. With a coupon at Babies R Us it was only $70. If you're really concerned, pick one up. I love mine.

Yes she will surely grow out of the noisy breathing, and newborns startle easily, sometimes waking themselves and jumping easily. She sounds normal.
