Let's see... President Bush is going to veto today 35 billion dollars for health insurance for children, however, he is requesting 190 billion for the war in Iraq. Iraq supplies oil... President Bush and his whole family own oil companies in Texas. So if we had not gone into Iraq, his company would have suffered. Myanmar does have anything that is going to help this government.... so they don't care.

The reality is they are not a military or economic threat. All they get is money and food and medical aid.
How much does the US need to do? Why is it our responsibility? The Monks can do more for the cause then America ever could.
We do more than anyone else in the world, and we protect our interests. What interest does Burma hold on the US or the rest of the world? Yet we help them anyway, because we can. So kiss my American butt for your stupid statement.

UH.................Yeah Chasen54? I see your pain in the circumstances in Myannmar. It is truly disturbing and painful to watch. However, the US forces are kinda busy right now. So do you pupose I tell my husband when he gets back from Iraq, "Honey, don't take them boots off yet"
Look, there are other countries who should be picking up the slack. Yes the UN should be doing something but they won't. America has done so much for so many. Don't try to put us down. It's futile.

Any aid would be intercepted by the Hunta. Sending troops would be an act of war, are you advocating the invasion of a country without first trying to find a resolution through diplomatic means?

No way. In case you have missed the news. The American military, especially ground forces are depleted. Everything is in need or renewal and or replacement.
Also, the vast majority of Americans want out of Iraq and certainly not in to another conflict.
Then there is China. China is the major player in the region. Let China help those folks resolve their issues.

There is no reason for the US to enter Myanmar. We are not the world's police force. People who demonstrate for freedom are taking a big risk. They should be prepared to suffer the consequences.
