I use firefox as my main browser. It has lots of good add-ons, like adblock plus, fasterfox, freasemonkey, fireftp, ...
www.getfirefox.com
As secondary I use Opera. Opera is a very good browsers. It has lots of new cool features firefox and IE hasn't picked up yet.
www.opera.com
On linux I have Epiphany as third browser (very good and stable) an on vista I have IE. I tried internet explorer again yesterday, it stopped responding after 20 min of usage. It's rubbish.

Edit: The poster above me knows nothing about websites. If he did he would know that only firefox and opera follow the webstandards and IE doesn't follow those standards. If his websites only look good in IE it means he's a bad coder.

Hey there.
From a user and web designers point of view, Internet Explorer is better than the other for they allow more scripts and plug ins to run. Thus displaying the page as it should be and not changing any of the contents.
I design pages and most of the time the one that displays it the best is IE.
Some browsers like Opera and Firefox needs additional or third party software to achieve its goal where IE automatically updates the plug in that is needed to play any content on the web page.
IE has also some security features that is not available from the other browsers.
But try them out and you will fine the one that is best for you.

Firefox is very good, but Internet Explorer 7 is, in my opinion, just as good. Any Internet Explorer prior to version 7 is, however, awful. Until IE7 came along I always used Firefox, but now I've switched back to IE7. No problems at all and it supports tabbed browsing as well, thus adopting one of the Firefox advantages.

Firefox is, in my oppinion, better to internet Explorer in each and every way. it somewhat is swifter, safer, much less stressful to apply... however the only factor that wins me over many times are the upload-ons. There are hundreds! Adblock Plus - block advertisements - flash advertisements, banner advertisements, and so on. and save the bandwidth and the cookie hassles that those might have created. acquire Statusbar - places your downloads on the backside of your demonstrate screen extremely of an stressful pop-up. FoxyTunes - administration your music participant without leaving Firefox. Noscript - advance your safety by way of basically permitting JavaScript while it somewhat is mandatory! CookieSafe - advance your privateness by way of basically permitting cookies while they're mandatory! AJAX Yahoo! Mail - open and consider a million to 10 to twenty e-mails all on one web site. All in all, the internet's plenty much less stressful and greater exciting in Firefox.

Sorry Kayla, but that's not true.
Firefox is more secure that IE7 and it's customizable.
I use Firefox with Adblock Plus, MacFox graphite (color scheme) and FoxMarks.
If you ever have trouble with Firefox, it can usually be remedied by removing the add-ons and re-installing. the only other problem is that it seems to use more memory than IE7. But I definitely prefer Firefox over the sterile and boring Internet Explorer.

I only use Firefox. I find it faster and a lot more reliable. There are also a vast array of community generated add ons available.
In my experience firefox leads and IE follows.
It hasn't ruined my computer as previously stated. I have used windows 98 2000 XP and various variants of Linux with it and they've all been successful.
Give it a go. If it doesn't work you can always go back to IE with its bloatware and regular reports back to Microsoft H.Q.

Better or Safer??? Firefox is safer, because it doesn't use ActiveX.
I use IE for Microsoft Updates ONLY. For everything else, Firefox is excellent. Use IE TAB, a Firefox extension, for those idiotic "IE only" websites. Google for it.
Mozilla patches Firefox way faster than Microsoft patches IE, too.

Firefox; - you can customize it from its look and appearance to features, plugins etc. If it crashes, it will always remember the pages that were open and ask if you would like them opened again.
You can add weather tools, media player controls etc to it.
Since I started using it in 2005 I've not gone back
