Mostly I prefer studying and doing homework alone so that I can concentrate on my work better. But for studying for tests then I like talking to others after I have read through the information for myself...then I often remember it better.

That depends. If the subject is something that a variety of views would be helpful, then a group. If you have a really smart buddy, in a pair. If it is something that you need full concentration then alone.
