plain and simple: you love the song and the way it makes you feel. Like a good dish, a good man/woman, a good job, etc. Having the same job for 20 years there must be something making them feel good. Being married to the same person for 40 years there must be something you love about them and the way they make you feel. Having a favorite dish since childhood makes you feel comfort and peace. And listening to the same song over and over again sometimes makes you feel the same way...

Repetition comforts some people. I do that if I am immersed in the song or it soothes my mood that day. The problem would be listening to angry and hate-filled music over a long period of time. Don't fill your subconscious mind with anger or negativity. That would imply escaping from a problem in someones life or being stuck in a life stage. You will always love your favorite song, sometimes several. It's a comforting element in your environment because music is a very important factor in our lives. Choose well.

Music has the ability to change one's mood of vice verses. simplisticly, there is a unseen rhythmn in everyone of us, it changes according to our mood.. and songs have rhythmn too... thus, we seek to listen to music that fits in sync with our internal rhythmn (thus, listening to sad songs when feeling sad)

Music can changes ur mood too for example in commercials applications.

You are sentimental and the song is pulling on your memory. I hope that it is a happy song with pleasant memories.
