Ebay is always a great place to start and try becoming a member of freecylce.org in your area. (you can ask for things you want and people post things they no longer want and its all free)

Also I love toys'r'us (babys'r'us) for baby goods! My best friend and I have got some of the best bargains there! The best ever was just recently and was a 3 wheel pram with bassinette insert, toddler seat, boot cover and extra trays for $80aus, normally $400! and all because it was the last one they had. I've also got nappy bags for $15 down from $70 and heaps of other things. You just have to keep your eye out for the bargains!
When you are looking at baby websites also, look for any links to clearance/sale items as you can often find things 50% off.

Try going to garage/yard sales and try looking in the newspaper advertisements as well. The only thing I would recommend buying brand new and not second hand is a car seat. The best one you can afford! Safety for your baby is the one thing I wouldn't skimp on.

best of luck

i know you may think its expensive but Argos can be cheap. Also i look at places like Graco as the manufacturers are some times cheaper than huge department stores! Have fun as shopping for you baby (s) can be so much fun!

We have stores called Once upon a child, that sells gently used baby items. This store and one like it are a godsend to new parents. Perhaps you have something similar in your area.
