Really good beginning. Crappy ending.

The anime starts off with a great premise and has some amazing battle scenese. However, near the end, the quality of battles drops sharply, and the anime goes away from the manga for the final 4 episodes, but doesn't accomplish anything and gives almost zero resolution. If they had followed the manga, there still wouldn't be much resolution (as the manga is still going on), but it wouldn't have been as crappy as it was.

It is a good anime...at first but sadly, the ending does suck. This time, Madhouse really screwed up the finale. Claymore does have a very strong plot and equally good characters. The fighting scenes were amazing and I liked the theme songs too. You would be glued to this anime from the start until the end when you would rather see a different version of ending. But I guess you should watch it for yourself to decide if you like Claymore or not. Overall, it was a good anime if not for the disappointing conclusion for its first season.

It's not bad. It has an interesting storyline and an interesting spin on how the forces of good and evil work in their world. It's worth watching if you can get your hands on it.

The anime series does end on a rather uneventful note, but does leave room for more if they decide to air another season in the future, so I could live with it.
