If it is a wooden kit which as you said the wood glue supplied is no good then as said earlier gorilla glue is one of the best wood glues available
If it is a plastic kit then the airfix glue is designed to melt and weld the pieces together

I'm assuming that this is a plastic kit of the Bismark you're building. If so you need to use a plastic cement. The one you'll most likely find is made by Testors in a red tube. Walmart will most likely have it in their model car section. Craft and hobby stores will have it too. If you can find glue tips get those too, it make working with it a lot neater. Stay away from Gorilla type glues, they expand and will ruin the model. Good luck.and hope this helps.

Do NOT use Gorilla-Glue or contact adhesive !!
As with "W Whit", I'm guessing you're building the Tamiya kit in styrene plastic..
What you want is STYRENE CEMENT... it is a solvent that very slightly melts the plastic along the joint, and then WELDS the two pieces together in a few minutes. Used with care, this is very neat and clean, and it is the INTENDED "glue" for the product / project
My FAVORITE is Testors Plastic Cement in a bottle with a brush... much better and easier to control that the "tube-glue". You can also look for Plasti-weld by Plastruct, or Pro-Weld by Ambroid

Here's my 2 cents. I use a product called Zap-A-Gap. It is specifically made for use on plastics and comes in 3 different consistancies (very runny, not so runny, and not runny at all (these are not the exact names). I have used it to build about 75 warhammer plasic figures and have had no problems with it. You can buy it at alot of hobby shops or hobbylobby.
