I rarely ovulate due to PCOS but on thursday i had a pain in my left ovary. I research this pain and it said it is ovulation pain. (you get the pain on the side you are releasing a egg from). When you get that pain you are actually ovulating at that moment and a egg is being released. So grab ya man and start trying. I went home and checked my cervix to (another way to check if you are ovulating) it was indeed high and soft which is what i was hoping for. I also did a opk and my line for the first time ever came up the same as the controll line. So everything was pointing to the fact i was ovulating. So i did sme baby dancing on thursday night and sat night. im now on my tww so fingers crossed for me. as for the cost of ovulation sticks, i cant really remember how much they were but i bought mine from ebay and were really cheap and work wonders.
good luck hunni

The pains you're talking about usually occur the day ovulation takes place. In some women the cramps can be after ovulation and it's the spasms of the ovary from releasing the follicle. But to answer your question, yes you want to have sex before the cramping. LH strips can be very beneficial in terms of better abling you to time your intercourse. Once you get a positive, have sex that day. It kinda takes the guess work out of when to have sex. Just a reminder though: Just because you test positive on an OPK does not guarantee you will actually ovulate. It's only testing for the LH surge. Good luck!!

Hey, I bought some of the same ovulation strips, I bought mines from amazon, I had some cm on day 8 of my cycle and I tested and I also got a faint line, I am not to sure about those ovulation strips but its best to try buying clear blue ovulation strips cause its more acuate, as to the cramps it is a sign of ovulation, I was more then happy when I got some cramps around the ovaries, they said its best to have sex before ovulatoin so that the sperm can meet the egg, but having sex durning cramps would hurt, so start BD when u get that feeling again
