i need to know what the law says

yes but some don't because they transporting prisoners or going to a call they just got which has priority....but they well call it in for help from other police , emergency vehicles if they feel its needed.

There is no legal requirement to stop at a witnessed accident for police officers in Missouri.

It would be nearly unworkable... If the police were responding to an emergency call and saw a minor fender-bender, they would have to stop under a law like that.

Depends on the circumstances. There is no law requiring me to stop for a vehicle crash. Like Citi Cop said it is not practical to require me to do this. However, I would at least call dispatch and make sure someone was sent if I could not stop to help.

You do not give enough relevant information for an accurate answer as there can be all sorts of scenarios (even in Missouri) where failure to stop would be a violation of not only department policy, but dereliction and others whereby not stopping is deemed not only excusable but in the best interest of public safety.

As correctly stated however, at least in Missouri there is no such law as you describe.

Off the record, you should address it as a "traffic collision."

Accident implies that there's no one to blame.
