It's often spelled without the k on the end.
Dominique is a girl's name.
Please tell your aunt not to make up some silly spelling, if it's pronounced "Dominic" it's effectively the same name anyway, all it does is set the child up for a lifetime of having to correct people and being laughed at.

I always thought the traditional spelling was "Dominic". (which is still my favourite)
I don't mind 'Domenic' or 'Dominick' but they look funny to me.
