If you're like me, the remake does not hold anywhere near the charm of the original. I'm listing some songs and artists here. Can you name the original artist, and in some cases, several previous artists, who recorded the same song?

1. Amarillo By Morning - George Strait (Really BAD version of a great early '70s song...)
2. My Maria - Brooks And Dunn
3. Someday Soon - Suzy Boguss
4. Statue Of A Fool - Ricky Van Shelton
5. Love Bug - George Strait
6. Life Turned Her That Way - Ricky Van Shelton
7. Tiny Dancer - Tim McGraw
8. Tall, Tall Trees - Alan Jackson
9. Who's Cheatin' Who, (for that matter) - Alan Jackson
10. And last but not least, Pop A Top - Alan Jackson

When I heard Tim McGraw slaughter "Tiny Dancer" I almost upchucked, Ive never listened to him since. George Strait did mangle Amarillo By Morning. So many of these country artists took the music from some fantastic oldies and just changed the lyrics. Cannot seem to come up with ANYthing original. Oh well we had the best of the best, they are just copying the best.

My Maria and Someday Soon were originally pop songs and pretty bad at that.

My Maria was originally recorded by Jim Croce, that's where Jim Ed Brown first heard it.
