I just went to a gastro-intestinal specialist as I have been diagnosed with IBS. This doctor told me that 80% of functional disease, like Crohn's or IBS would be healed by doing endurance exercise. Also he said that endurance exercise has to be done at least five days a week or you get soreness. His top recommendation was endurance swimming. Running is OK, too.

Have you heard of Kenneth Cooper's Aerobic books? He is really good and helps people with all sorts of disease. The book titled "Aerobics" is older, in paperback and cheap. It gives you all that you need to
know about exercise training. Being young, I would bet that in six week to eight weeks of following this program, you will get some very positive benefits. My husband runs 2.5 miles every day. Sometimes he bikes in addition or runs an extra mile or two. He is 49, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in March, and now has normal blood sugar and feels great.

Starting a good exercise progran now will make the entire rest of your life better. go for it! If this exercise quiets the Crohn's, you will be so much better off than if you keep waiting for a doctor to help you, when they can't for a problem like that.

crohns disease presents a real problem as far as a bodybuilding diet goes. i dont know alot about your diet regimen that you need to stick to, but the training should not differ from anybody elses. begin weight training and concentrate on doing the basic lifts for all major muscle groups. as far as diet goes, i would have to research a diet for crohns patients before i could suggest anything to you. i know the make a drink called "boost" that is used alot for cancer patients and people who cannot eat for medical reasons. it is a high calorie, high protein drink that may be helpful to you if your gi tract can handle it, besides that.. you need to take in more calories with the foods that you are allowed to eat. if you are interested, feel free to email me with a list of foods you can eat and i can try to help you out further. i am not a trainer or anything, i am just speaking from years of training and diet experience...
