For those without morals, it is easy to justify taking a life to bypass the responsibility of their own actions.

You will notice that many consider it to be a mass of cells EXCEPT when someone else kills it, then and only then is it a baby and someone goes to jail or the death chamber.

In all, those who support the "right to choose" to kill their own offspring before birth conveniently overlook the fact that pregnancies are caused and any semi-intelligent being knows it. Abortion is simply refusing to be a responsible adult and accepting the responsibility for another choice that was also demanded under the guise of "women's rights" (the right to be promiscuous).

Those advocating abortion as birth control (abortion on demand) are mentally and emotionally, children, don't expect rational answers for their irresponsible behavior.

I think that this will forever be a controversy and we will never come to a world consensus on this topic. Some say its murder others see it as a last resort to something not wanted or life threataning. I believe that this is a decision up to the individual person because it is such a personal thing.
I think the reason most people have a problem with abortion is that it is a type of killing that could easily be prevented yet we are all helpless and have no control whatsoever. We get angered that we can do nothing more than see what decision the woman chooses. I am rather neutral on this topic. maybe even confused on which side i would be on if i ever got pregnant unwillingly.
So trying to justify abortion would be like trying to tell someone what to do. Yu cant make a person do anything they don't want to.

Why are you even asking a question you don't want to hear the answers to? You are not supposed to be using Y!S as a platform/soapbox. Besides, this question has been asked soooo many times, you would have been better off to do a search on it, and read the answers in those(heck, you wouldn't have needed to do the search, 'cause as you were putting the question in, a little box would have dropped down that said "We have found similar questions"

Anyway:

Abortions acceptable in the first and second trimesters(up until the baby can survive out of the womb):
BC Failure.
Unwanted pregnancy.
Drug Use.
Rape.
Mother's health/life at risk if pregnancy goes further.
Mother finds out she has a disease, and the treatment that is necessary will kill the baby anyway
Incest.
Problems with the baby's health.

Abortions acceptable after the baby could survive outside of the womb:
Mother's health/life at risk.
Drug Use.
Problems with the baby's health.
Baby is dead.

I don't justify abortion because I don't NEED to justify abortion. It's a act that has been around nearly as long as women have gotten pregnant. The legalization of it has simply made it a safer choice for women.

I am personally pro-life and politically pro-choice. I'm too old for incest to be an issue for me, so there is absolutely no circumstance where I could see myself choosing an abortion. However, those are my beliefs and I do not agree that everyone in the world should have to believe the same way I do. Therefore, just because I see it as a wrong choice, how can I justify criticizing someone else for making a different choice?

Have to agree with Ikydragn's sentence- "I am personally pro-life and politically pro-choice." That just about sums it up for me too.
I really hate seeing unborn babies being killed, because life should be valued and it's of the utmost cruelty, but there are women who wouldn't be able to give the child the care and love it needs and many children that have been born are unwanted unfortunately.
But, the larger problem that ultimately causes higher and higher rates of abortion is the fact that the younger generation are growing up with less morals and becoming more and more promiscuous. How many young women fall victim to peer pressure and see having sex as easy as buying a coke to drink? How many women see being 'easy' as an achievement or wearing the skimpiest clothes. While men may like this, women sure aren't being respected for it and women and unborn babies are paying the price for this.

I dont know.. im not pro life but i wouldnt want my child to be aborted. An argument pro-choicers use that dont justify it is that "Let every child be a wanted child" when it really means "let only wanted children live" That argument IN PARTICULAR is stupid.

If having a child would kill me and possibly the child in the process, I wouldn't do it. I don't want my kid growing up without its mother.

Oh, and the second you can actually be pregnant and in such a situation, then maybe you should be allowed to judge what should rightfully be a woman's decision.

legal to kill you if you fail?
no

is it right---
well, do you have any hope of actually making it. Or are you going to be a problem well into the future.

It is not another human being, it is just a growing fetus. It is like a finger, or piece of liver.

And with modern science today, we can create a viable fetus out of any cell. So are all cells sacred since they hold the essence of life?

and lastly, you don't want a reason, you just want to argue. how sad. go get a life

This discussion is futile...particularly with the way you have worded your question. If you were truly looking, with an open mind, for people to explain their reasons and explanations for abortion - and that perhaps you would listen without judging - then it would be worthwhile answering. But thats not the case. You have your opinion, and pro-choice folks have theirs. I would like to point out that abortion is legal....so there have to be some compelling and legitimate reasons for countries in our civilized world to legalize such an extreme procedure...but pro-life folks don't want to hear them. So I think we can just agree to disagree...have a nice day.

While it is not my thing I think people should have the option. Just because one group of people opposes something doesn't mean another group should have to change to make that group happy. Plus abortion can save lives aswell. I know a girl who only has a 10% chance of surviving child birth. If she was ever raped and got pregnant than she should be allowed the option.
All I'm saying is not everyone has the same moral values. Some have too little and some have waaaay too many.
You also have to think of what would happen if abortion was made illegal. Women would have it done illegaly without the and could end up dyeing themselves.
I justify abortion with the fact that there are rare occasions like my friend and sadly but true it keeps population down without the government steping in and yes I wouldn't put it past our government to prevent us from reproducing to keep down population.

For the record
I think partial birth abortion is wrong but doing it before it is a fetus (when its just a small cluster of cells) is not murder. If it was then so is masturbation because sperm is technically alive too.
