they have pitched a large part of their careers in the most potent offense times and "steroid" era is them winning 300 games never having had an over powering fastball something really special?

As noted, they do get a lot of credit already, which they deserve.
I can't see how winning games is more or less difficult because of the steroid era. Someone has to win each game and someone has to lose. They would only be hurt if their team-mates did not use while everyone else did.
And lots of great pitchers didn't have overpowering fastballs--the Niekros, Bert Blyleven, Christy Matthewson...Glavine's fastball was pretty good when he was younger.

They deserve all the credit, they knew how to pitch and use control to win games. Maddux had the best control if he stopped playing a few years back his WHIP would have been like a 1 which is amazing and Glavine might be the last 300 game winner you see in a long long time

It was once said that both men could put a baseball through a Lifesaver from 70 feet away. With that kind of accuracy, they deserve more credit than anyone on the pitching staff. They both have a good arsenal of pitches. They're some of the noticably older players in the game of baseball, and their stuff is just as good as anyone else. Put both of them on the same team, and that's a garuntee for at least 90 wins. So yes, they deserve more credit.

They have gotten the acclaim they deserve...They will both go down as 2 of the finest pitchers of the 1990s, and both will go into the HOF...Multiple Cy Young winners, great records, winning teams, not to mention they were both class acts on and off the field. 300 game winners dont fall off of trees and unless Randy Johnson gets healthy and Mussina gets his career back on track for 4 more seasons, you might be looking at 2 of the last 3 300 game winners you might see in a looong while

Over time these two pitchers will be looked back upon and be recognized as two of the greatest ever. Not only because they got 300 wins but, it is a very good possibility it's not going to happen again for a long time.

I think they get the credit they deserve. They are both fantastic pitchers and are easily two of the best pitchers of our generation. Surefire hall of famers.

I don't understand what you mean, they are acknowledged as two of the games best and most would agree they are headed for the HOF five years after they retire.
