So I'm 41 weeks and 3 days today. I have appointment Friday for an NST and on Sunday I'll be 42 weeks. I've been researching and have come to find that risks are higher for the baby after 42 weeks (yet I have no proof of that).

But if the baby doesn't come on her own by Friday, should I ask my doctor about a possible induction this weekend being that I'll be hitting the big 42 week mark this Sunday?

What's healthy and what's not, advice please!

It is very likely your doctor will suggest induction on Friday. Ask them. Find out what the plan is. Better yet call today and find out what the plan is going to be if it doesn't happen on its own soon! The waiting is just awful :-)

I am not saying this is the case, but sometimes the baby is too big and won't fit through so labor doesn't start and you'll have to have a c-section.

Good luck with the new baby girl!!

you don't want to go over your 42 wk mark for sure..thats just bad news...usually the baby wil come ot when its time, some go over their 'due' date but sometimes the doc will get 'your' dates wrong and truly you could only be 39wks but think your '42' wks..
