Ask the urologist to check for a condition called Interstitial Cystitis. One of the symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis is that of feeling like there is a urinary tract infection although there isn't one.

To test for Interstitial Cystitis they would need to do a cystoscopy. It's a test done with a special camera called a cystoscope to check inside the bladder to see what is going on and try to find the cause of the symptoms that the person is having.
