Well, if what you say is true, your story tells me that this is probably the first time you've texted the guy. And here is the thing about texting. Some phones and/or phone carriers do not actually receive the text without a texting plan. If the guy you were texting with does not have a texting plan, then perhaps he did not receive a text at all, or he does not want to be charged with the incoming texts and so he deletes them or blocks texts all together. Some carriers' rule on texting is...if you open/read the text message, you will be charged.

Because typing in one more letter would mean that most people would have to use their brains a little to find the O. I hate it when people send me an answer with K. Just say, cool, OK, sounds good. I mean K, come on how hard is it to just add the O? =)

"K"... ultra short for okay. Guys are not the only ones who respond to texts with "K."
Even girls, women, men... I think mostly those who dont want to bother with a longer response, like parents who are not really very tech savvy.. or those who does not want to spend too much time responding, but feels the need to...

the letter 'k' in texts and chat rooms is short hand for the already shortened 'OK' or "Okay"
Men (and women) who only use the single Letter "k" for a reply are either being efficient or just lazy...
